Thousands supported the cause and showed for the Spar Women’s Race Joburg.

The 2017 Spar Women’s Race Joburg was a massive success. As media partners, Caxton Joburg North journalists from Rosebank Killarney Gazette, Northcliff Melville Times and Get IT JHB , were out in full force on race day on 9 October encouraging racers and snapping fun pics with them.

The Caxton Joburg North ‘paparazzi’ were on standby to capture every moment before and after the race, making all attendees feel like celebrities!

The entire aim on the day was to create a local media presence and vibe. #achievementunlocked

Regular social media posts were uploaded, Facebook live videos were shot and plenty of friendly conversations were had. Branding on the day aided the initiative, with shirts, banners and gazebo’s covered in the local newspaper branding. Over 13 000 runners turned up at Marks Park, Emmarentia to either run the 10km or walk the 5km.

The Caxton team also promoted its ‘Donate a pair and show you care’ campaign at the race, with many runners donating their running shoes once they completed the race.
